The Barbary Lion
In the wake of her tech-entrepreneur father’s death, drone engineer Brigid O’Malley has returned home to Newport Beach to take over his business. She’s a star at work, but her personal life is more complicated – she’s falling for Gustavo, a handsome but mysterious member of her soccer league, despite warnings from her best friend that Gustavo is involved with a powerful and dangerous Mexican cartel. When her friend ends up in serious trouble with immigration authorities, Brigid turns to Gustavo for help and becomes indebted to the cartel. But she begins to suspect her involvement wasn’t a coincidence, and soon she has no idea who to trust in the race to outsmart a major drug smuggling operation.
Sidelined CIA Agent Patrick Sullivan has plans of his own for Gustavo and Brigid. He’s been tracking Chivas, the cartel’s infamously savage kingpin for years, and as he watches Gustavo’s operation unfold, he hatches a plan to use the young couple to take down the drug lord once and for all.
Between a hijacked drone, a twisted love affair, and a quest for power, this novel will keep you guessing where love and loyalty lie until the very end.
